Uesugi Kenshin(revised edition)

Uesugi Kenshin is one of the most famous SAMURAI in Japan.
He conquered the land of Echigo(current Niigata Prefecture) in the Sengoku era.

He lived apart from his parents and grew up at a temple, because he was not the eldest son,
(In the Sengoku era, sons of samurai often grew up at a temple except the eldest son.)
However, Kenshin was eventually chosen the successor to his father, because his oldest brother was sickly.

Kenshin was known as one of the strongest daimyou.
He believed himself that he was  the reincarnation of the god of war, and he was called "Echigo no ryuu"(The dragon of Echigo".
Actually, he was very strong in battles.
Particularly, the battle with Takeda Shingen which is called "Kawanakajima no tatakai"(the battle of Kawanakajima) is the most famous.
In his life, he fought against Takeda Shingen many times.

On the other hand, he was known as SAMURAI who valued honor.
He received daimyous of each place expelled by Takeda Shingen.
