Uesugi Kenshin

Uesugi Kenshin is one of the most famous SAMURAI in Japan.
He conquered the land of Echigo(current Niigata Prefecture) in Sengoku era.

He was left in a temple, because he was not the eldest son.
But because his oldest brother was sickly,  Kenshin had been  a successor to his father finally.

Kenshin was known as one of the strongest Daimyo.
He believed himself that he was  the reincarnation of the god of war, and he was called "Echigo no ryuu"(The dragon of Echigo" by other people.
Actually, he was very strong in the battle.
Particularly, the battle with Takeda Shingen which is called "Kawanakajima no tatakai"(the battle of Kawanakajima) is the most famous.
While he lived, he fought against Takeda Shingen many times.

On the other hand, he was known as SAMURAI who valued honor.
He received daimyos of each place expelled by Takeda Shingen.
In addition, he was known to have sent salt to Takeda Shingen himself who was rival of him because Takeda Shingen was in trouble with lack of salt.
