Shin(Kanji)

Today, I want to introduce a kanji to you.

The word is "新".

This word has on-yomi and kun-yomi.
(If you don't know on-yomi and kun-yomi, please read a past entry of this blog!)

on-yomi : 新 / shin : =new
kun-yomi : 新しい / atara(shii) : =new

If you find a word of "新製品"(shin-seihin) or "新学期"(shin-gakki), it means "新"(shin=new) + "製品"(seihin=product) or "新"(shin=new) + "学期"(gakki=term).
