Maeda Toshiie

Maeda Toshiie was a SAMURAI who lived in the Sengoku era.
He was the subordinate of Oda Nobunaga.

He was known as a master of the spear, so that he performed very well in many battles.
Therefore he was given the land of Noto(current Ishikawa Prefecture) from Nobunaga later.

After death of Nobunaga, he served Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
Later, Toyotomi Hideyoshi conquered whole of Japan, and Toshiie held one of the position of the five chief ministers called "Go-tairou"(Council of Five Elders).

Toshiie passed away a while after Nobunaga's death.
However, his clan became subordinate of Tokugawa Ieyasu and was given the land of Kaga(current Ishikawa Prefecture).
The territory was very huge compared with other daimyou, and Maeda clan was known as a great daimyou.
